So, our neighbors to the north held the G20 Summit this past week and a bunch of black-block anarchists apparently started a bunch of shit on fire and threw some bricks and pissed the cops off something fierce. I don't know how I feel about this story. On the one hand, I've been to a couple of huge metropolitan protests like this and I know how quick things can turn for the cops and how they react to that kind of chaos. On the other hand, I've heard accounts and seen some video footage (see below) of a lot of seemingly peaceful demonstrators getting royally fucked by the Toronto boys in blue.
The point of the summit was to try and figure out how to not go broke in the face of a global recession. It sounds like the US has the brilliant idea that spending more money that we don't have will work, whereas the Brits are looking to decrease government spending.
Either way, we're fucked. Hope y'all like Chinese food!
